Isaiah 19 Egypt in Prophecy, Part 4

Verse 16In that day the Egyptians will become like women, and they will tremble and be in
dread because of
the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which He is going to wave over

In that day” – This is first of 6 references to follow that refer to “In that day.” Referring to the Day
of Lord’s Second presence
in which he comes with trouble to execute vengeance and to remove this evil
order of society. All Christendom will tremble when the dark night of anarchy comes when no man can

The waving (brandishing) of the hand of the Lord of hosts” over Egypt (Christendom) may well
represent the Lord’s final
krima (judgment or condemnation) on the actions (or inactions) of
Christendom throughout its existence, but more specifically during “
that day”, when the (right) “hand
of the Lord
” is brought forth to strike Egypt.

Son of man, prophesy and say, ‘thus says the Lord God: “Wail, ‘Woe to the day!’ for the day is
near, even the day of the Lord is near; it will be a day of clouds
(trouble), the time of the
The sword shall come upon Egypt and great anguish shall be in Ethiopia, when the
slain fall in Egypt, when they take away her wealth, and
her foundations (cornerstones, leaders
and doctrines)
are broken down…those who uphold Egypt shall fall, and the pride (confidence)
[in] her power shall come down…they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have set a fire in
Egypt and all her helpers are destroyed…I will make Pathros desolate,
set fire to Zoan
(remember Zoan represents the civil powers)
and Noph (Memphis, the heart of Christendom) shall be
in distress
(troubled) daily…thus will I execute judgments on Egypt, then they shall know that I
am the Lord
. “ (Isa 30:2-4, 6, 8, 14, 16, 19)

In that day the Egyptians will become like women (weak and feeble), and they will tremble and
be in dread
(shudder with terror) because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts (power of
, which He is going to wave over them.”

Verse 17The land of Judah shall strike terror into Egypt; its very name shall cause dismay,
because of the plans that the LORD of Hosts has laid against them.”

The land of Judah” refers to Natural Israel. Who we are told “Will strike terror into Egypt” or
Christendom. Why? Because of Christendom’s past persecutions of Israel – and because they were to
help protect Israel
during Jacobs Trouble. But instead Obadiah 1:10 and 11 tells us:

Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be
destroyed forever.
On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and
foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them

Christendom “
stood aloof” and did nothing to help Israel, but instead they were in heart sympathy with
the attackers.

We have a similar scripture in
Ezekiel 25:12, 14, where Israel will avenge Edom, which we recall is
another symbolic name for Christendom.

Because Edom (Christendom) took [vengeance] on the house of Judah and became very guilty
by doing so…I will take vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel…
” (NIV)

The “violence” against Israel spoken of in the foregoing texts is in regards to the “Time of Jacobs
”, the time when all of Israel’s lovers (the various nations supportive of Israel now, such as
the U.S. and Britain)
will have forsook her for the sake of self interest and self preservation
(Jer 30:14) a time when the enemies of Israel, “all them that hate her” will surround her coming from
every dirrection, but predominantly from the north,“
Gog of the land of Magog”, ascending like a
storm, covering the land like a cloud, coming to “
take a plunder”,

You will come up against my people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter
days that I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me, when I am
hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes… And it shall come to pass in that day, when Gog shall
come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah that my wrath shall come up into my
nostrils. For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there
shall be
a great shaking (earthquake, upheaval of society) in the land of Israel; so that the fishes of
the sea
(the masses of mankind), and the birds of the heavens (the ecclesiastical heavens comprising
both the seen and the unseen powers of spiritual control)
, and the beasts of the field (the field is the
Matt 13:38, comprised of beasts, various Gentile governments), and all creeping things that
creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my
presence, and
the mountains (kingdoms, earthly governments) shall be thrown down, and the
steep places shall fall, and every
wall (civil power or institution) shall fall to the ground. And I will
call for a sword against him unto all my mountains, saith the Lord Jehovah: every man's sword
shall be against his brother. And with pestilence and with blood will I enter into judgment with
him; and I will rain upon him, and upon his hordes, and upon the many peoples that are with
him, an overflowing shower, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. And I will magnify
myself, and sanctify myself, and I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations; and
they shall know that I am Jehovah
.” (Ezek 38:16,18-23)

In that day, “the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations” amassed against Israel, (Zech
) even as he fought their battles in the past, thus the land of Judah shall strike terror
[throughout] Egypt and the rest of the world
, for then shall they know that the Lord fights for
Israel, then, as was previously stated “
In that day, the Egyptians (those who have erroneously been
professing themselves to be Christians)
will become like women (weak and feeble), and they will
tremble and be in dread
(shudder with terror) because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of
(power of judgment), which He is going to wave over them.”

Christendom will then tremble in fear knowing that they had turned their backs upon the Lord’s chosen
people and that by their actions (or inaction) condoned the attack by Gog and those who were gathered
with him. Many at that time realizing their course was one of deception and lies will cease from all
pretence of being deemed Christians, Christ’ followers, as is pictured in the Tabernacle types they will be
cast out of the “
courtyard” representing faith justification and return to the “camp” condition from
which they originally came, representing the worldly.
