Isaiah 19 Egypt in Prophecy, Part 1
This was the title of a discourse given by Brother George Tabac which I found to be both informative
and interesting especially as we were study the Great Pyramid at the time. I have modified it a little, not
in content mind you, but merely in order to reduce any repetitive statements made by the author as it
was original laid out in a discourse form for the benefit of Brother Tabac when speaking. As is my usual
policy anything, which I might have to add to the study will apear in Italics.
We may recall the 19th chapter of Isaiah is where the Great Pyramid of Egypt is referred to as
an Altar to the Lord in the midst of the Land of Egypt. Today we would like to consider how this altar
to the Lord ties in with the rest of the 19th chapter, which we will find is primarily a Prophecy about how,
Egypt in prophecy, is symbolic of the nominal Christian World – of Christendom.
Later we will consider Scriptures that divide the entire world into two symbolic names. Egypt,
picturing the Christian World, and Assyria, The Non Christian World.
First lets establish how Egypt refers to the World of Christendom by comparing Natural Israel with
1) - Natural Israel was in bondage in Egypt = Spiritual Israel was in Christendom’s bondage.
2) – Natural Israel was delivered from Egyptian bondage = Spiritual Israel was delivered by
being called out of Christendom.
3) – Egypt was crushed by 10 Plagues = 3 Woes and the 7 Last Plagues destroy Christendom.
Next we recall the 1260 years of Papal Reign when the Bible (spoken of as "my two witnesses") was
Figuratively Dead. And what we will notice is that it was figuratively dead in Egypt, picturing Christendom.
(See Rev 11:3, 7, 8)
“And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred
and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth… And when they shall have finished their testimony,
the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall
overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city,
which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.”
The two witnesses we realize picture the Old and New Testaments and the thousand two hundred and
threescore days the 1260 years the time of Papal Reign 539 BC to 1799, their being clothed in sackcloth
pictured mourning, due to Papacy’s persecution and suppression.
“And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless
pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them (figuratively speaking,
making them ineffective, outlawed).” There their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city
(Christendom’s Capitol-Rome), which spiritually is called Sodom AND Egypt, where also our Lord
Why is it spiritually called Sodom?
Because like Sodom’s Illicit Union – Papacy had an Illicit Union of Church and State
Then in addition to Christendom’s great city being called Sodom, notice now how it adds the thought that
this city is also spiritually called Egypt. WHY is it called Egypt? Its God’s way of calling to our attention
that Egypt in prophecy is symbolic of the Christian world of Christendom.
Likewise it tells us this Great symbolic City of Egypt was also where our Lord was crucified (at the
hands of the Roman Government). Referring we believe to how our Lord is illegitimately being
crucified daily in Christendom’s doctrine of the Mass. (The “Abomination of Desolation”, See
Matt 24:15; Dan 11:31)
Thus we can see how EGYPT symbolically in scripture refers to the World of Christendom.
In our next post we will begin with Verse 1 of Chapter 19
